Frequently Asked Questions about the Software Update

Is this a required software update?

Yes. This software update is required to help ensure your affected device continues to function as expected.

Is this software currently available for all models?

The software update is currently available for the following models:
9390E – Powerheart AED G3 Plus, Semi-automatic
9390A – Powerheart AED G3 Plus, Automatic

When will the software be available for the other affected models?

Soon a software update will be available for the balance of affected Cardiac Science AED models: Powerheart 9300A, 9300C, 9300D, 9300E, 9300P; and CardioVive 92531, 92532, and 92533.

Must I notify Cardiac Science that I have updated the software on my affected AEDs?

No. AED Doctor will notify Cardiac Science that your device has been updated.

Will my device act differently during a rescue once the update is performed?

If it currently operates according to the AHA/ERC 2005 Guidelines, there will be no change.
If your device operates according to the AHA/ERC 2000 Guidelines, it will change to be compatible with the 2005 guidelines.
NOTE: The behavior of your device after the update is performed will be described in the new Operator’s Manual and Instructions for Use documents provided with the update software.

When will I receive my AED(s) once they have been updated?

Your AED(s) will be shipped back to you via standard ground within 2 business days of receipt.

What is the surcharge for Shipping & Handling for orders to Hawaii and Alaska?

The surcharge for Shipping & Handling for Hawaii and Alaska is $50.00 per AED.
